Babies-R-WHAT?

This weekend my husband and I decided to head over to Babies-R-Us to do a little registering before the babies arrive! I was telling my sister and she said,"Remember.... it's a BUSINESS!" She couldn't have been more right. The first thing you think when you walk in is wow! Slightly overwhelming!
Sweet little boy and girl onsies and sleepers from Old Navy.  They are having a sale until Sept. 26th!

We walked around and registered for the basics. Burp cloths, diapers, bottles, receiving blankets etc. etc., but quickly moved past the "Boogie wipes,"& "pee pee tee pees." I mean seriously?
It really got me thinking. I mean how did our parents survive without all this crap?  My mom had a newborn, a two year old, and a four year old all at once! No nanny mind you, and somehow we survived!
All of these products are designed to make our lives easier, but somehow they seem to make them harder. I don't think I've ever seen moms more stressed!
So we we whisked through the store zapping our registry gun at things we wanted and "needed" and quickly hurried out.
Don't get me wrong, we're excited to be parents. We know it's going to be hard, (especially with twins) but isn't that part of the experience?
The best part? My husband is going to make our bassinet. I know it will be more beautiful and well made than any one of those overpriced plastic and cloth ones you can buy, AND it will be a lot more special! ( :

Teddies from my doc, Sophie the giraffe teether and a green sprouts bottle (organic al the way)!

Organic Shea Butter to keep the stretch marks under control from my sis-inlaw Robin.
To all you moms out there, I would LOVE to know what products you found useful, and what products you found to be a complete waste!
Have a great week! XO

"Ultimate Crib Sheets" are fabulous! You can still see the cute crib sheet on the side, but you snap this on top....they are awesome!!

The "Boppie" was a must for me! It made holding and nursing Olivia so much more comfortable. And of course the baby monitor which you gave us!!!!

The medela quick clean micro steam bags. You can use each bag 20 times and sterilize anything in them - just drop item(s) in bag, add water, microwave for 3 minutes. AND they take up no counter space! (no need for a sterilizer)

I agree with the steam bags. They rock! The the wipes warmer is a bust! It's florida for goodness sake and it was a waste of time. I tried a number of slings and always found them too much work to take on and off. I loved just holding the babies. My favorite items for all 3 kids was a great little sling back bouncing or vibrating chair. It really gives you a chance to free up your arms and keeps the babies happy!

I was at a baby shower the other day and thought the same thing, how the heck did we survive without all these new things that're now sold? It's crazy the things that now have!
