Vitamin D-iamonds

Photo:L.Andrew

You have no idea how valuable Vitamin D3 has been in our household this winter! Every winter either my husband or myself gets sick. The holidays are always stressful, but add in a HUGE Christmas show surrounded by at least one or two sick people in the cast and it's inevitable one of us will get sick.

Introducing vitamin D3. Now.... I am NOT big on shots. The few times I did receive a flu shot I got SICK! I'm not saying all shots are bad, but I believe many are invented to make the drug companies $$$$$. Our own immune systems should be able to fight off the basic flu.
After much research, this winter I decided to skip the flu shot, and load up on 1000 IU a day of Vitamin D3. My husband was on board too. We would up it to 2000 IU if we were around someone sick or were working more exhausting hours. Guess what????? This is the first time in 7 years neither of us has gotten sick! I am a believer! Do yourself and your body a favor. Eat healthy, skip those shots and load up on Vitamin D3 during Flu season. Any brand will do. I got mine at the supermarket. Good luck and stay healthy!

I agree with you, I've never been a flu shot fan. The two years I did it I also got very sick. I'll have to pick up the Vitamin D regiment!

My husband and I are also a big believers in Vitamin B. If I travel with it, I don't get sick, even when we get home. I have definitely found the Vitamin D research coming out very interesting. Apparently even in our "sunburnt" country, too many people have a Vitamin D deficiency.

I had never heard of Vitamin D3. This is one of the reasons why I love the blogosphere... I learn so much!

I'll definitely give it a try.

Sunlight and supplements both are the best ways to cover the deficiency of vitamin D for your body. I use supplements because i don't have much time to sit in sunlight that's why i try to use supplements and they are doing the best for me.
