The Wedding (Chapter 7)

Today is our anniversary!
Aside from the day my babies were born, my wedding day was the best day of my life. Orlando Home and Leisure did a spread on our wedding that you can read on Pinterest HERE!

Writing our "Love Story" blog series has been nostalgic and fun, but the purpose was not to say Michael and I have the perfect relationship. No one does. We argue, we face challenges, and annoy each other just like everyone else! But, at the core of it all there is a strong bond, and a love that can sustain anything.

When you choose a mate you have to choose very wisely. We stand before our loved ones on our wedding day and exchange vows.
For better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish as long as we both shall live.
And we say those words with such certainty and mean every single one of them.
Yet, until you are faced with the worse, poor and sickness, you never really know how much your relationship can endure. Let's face it, it's easy to stand by someone during the better, richer and healthy times!

This year when Michael and I lost our daughter Cali, I can remember looking at him on that tragic day, and thinking to myself that there was no one else in the world I would rather be going through this with. There was no one else I would rather have standing by my side. It made my love for him stronger than I ever thought possible. It reaffirmed that I had married the right person. Grief and stress has been know to tear even the best couples a part, but we leaned on each other, supported each other, and helped each other heal during that difficult time.

Someone asked me once if I could pick 3 qualities I would want in a mate what would they be?
My answer was FUN, LOYAL and most importantly someone who will ALWAYS HAVE MY BACK!
My 3 wishes came true. Michael is that for me and so much more.

Happy 6 year Anniversary to Michael, the love of my life, best friend, my everything!
I look forward to many more years with you ........for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. And I will continue to love you as long as we both shall live!

All my love,
~Lea
