Homemade Teething Biscuits

My little Tommy's first tooth broke through on October 20th, and it was so exciting to see that little tooth! The downside? He is miserable! His little baby gums are just killing him, and even though I've tried every teether on the market, nothing seems to work. I was told to try a frozen waffle, and let me tell you moms, DON'T do it! Within a few moments, he had a chunk in his mouth! So what did I do? I turned to Pinterest of course, and found this EASY recipe for homemade teething biscuits, and I mean EASY! No mixing bowls or messy ingredients involved. That's my kind of recipe! Ready?

First choose a piece of bread. I chose Nature's Own whole wheat because that's what I had in the fridge and it's healthy.
Cut off the crusts and knead the bread flat either with your fingers, or a rolling pin.
Choose a baby food. I chose Apricot, Peach and pumpkin. Again, that's what I had.
In the recipe I read online the woman chose apple sauce but you can use any fruit filling you want. Spread a nice even layer. This is what will keep your roll together so don't skimp! I also sprinkled a little bit of cinnamin on top. Now, slowly and tightly roll up your biscuit.
Microwave on high for 1 minute. Turn it over, and keep microwaving for an additional 30 seconds until your biscuit is hard. If the biscuit is still soft keep cooking. I had to do the 30 seconds a few times because my microwave is old. Let is cool. Done! That's it! Seriously!
And now........ the test!

HE GRABS IT!

HE EXAMINES IT!

YOU WANT ME TO EAT THIS?

HE GOES FOR IT!

HE GIVES ME THE THUMBS UP! AND..........

HE LOVES IT!

YES, Tommy loves his new biscuits. Not only are they helping his teething, but one of these biscuits will occupy him for about an hour! The best part? They don't break off in chunks. I have found they soften into a gooey crumbly consistancy, but not pieces big enough for choking. Picture wet bread. Pretty harmless.
Still, DO NOT leave your baby unattended, when eating the biscuit. Hope all you mothers out there find this helpful. It has been a lifesaver for us!
